Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Needs – they are everywhere. We see them in our neighborhoods, schools, in our jobs and in our own homes. We ask ourselves, "What can I do to help? How can I make a difference? Where do I start? I can't possibly be everywhere, can I?"
The answer is simple – the Catholic Stewardship Appeal. The Appeal impacts virtually everything Catholic in southeastern Wisconsin – supporting more than 100 different ministries and programs and reaching 700,000 Catholics and countless others in every corner of our 10-county archdiocese.
Through your gift to the Appeal you really can be everywhere, just as our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is everywhere, in and through His Church. When you give to the Appeal, you follow Jesus' example, taking your place with those in need all around us.
You also honor our own Catholic faith and the tradition of Sancta Sedes, or Holy Seat. It symbolizes the constant presence of the Church in the world, ministering to those in need as if the supreme pastor of the Church were sitting there with them. Jesus, and our Catholic tradition, invite us to take a seat at the table with those in need, to be in communion with them. This is what the red chair signifies throughout this web site. It truly is our place!
