Many voices are blending together as one at Blessed Savior Catholic Church, on Milwaukee's northwest side. It's just what you'd expect at a spirited celebration of the Mass. But it becomes remarkable when you learn that Blessed Savior has only been in existence since last July, when it was formed by the merger of four neighboring parishes.
Consultation and leadership training funded by the Catholic Stewardship Appeal helped parishioners unite with dedication and vision. An archdiocesan leader calls the new church a "pioneer for the future." The singing at Mass is often so joyous that accompanists strain to hear the piano. It seems the spirit is contagious, especially when it's the Holy Spirit.
