How do you care for an aging mother who can no longer stay at home alone while you are at work? Or find special bathing facilities for a husband whose stroke left him partially paralyzed? You turn to Catholic Charities' Adult Care Ministry, supported by the Catholic Stewardship Appeal. Two Adult Day Service Centers, a dementia day respite program, along with home-based care, serve some 400 individuals and relieve family members of feeling alone and overwhelmed.
Attention to individual needs such as nutrition, hygiene, therapy and exercise gives caregivers the assurance that their loved ones are in good hands. Equally important, it shows care for the care-givers themselves.
