The recession has affected virtually every parish and every Catholic. As ministers of liturgy and music at St. Mary Parish in Hales Corners, Debra Honoré and Daniel E. O'Connor are attuned to the wider concerns of their parishioners.
Well-known for embracing contemporary music and introducing new compositions, they recently created a worship based on "Lamentations" for members concerned about losing their jobs. In addition, they led a special prayer service for the unemployed. "From grieving to celebrating, music will touch different events in people's lives," says Debra. |
